Khalsa Aid responded to Lebanon's displacement crisis by delivering 2,000 emergency food packs to displaced families across multiple locations. The operation also provided emergency water tank support to one shelter where displaced people had no access to water.

Khalsa Aid has distributed 2,000 emergency food packs to displaced families across Beirut, Saida and northern Lebanon in response to a conflict escalation that has displaced over 800,000 people since earlier in March 2026. The distributions took place between 25 and 27 March.

The crisis has pushed Lebanon's collective shelters well beyond capacity. Schools and community centres across the country are housing dozens of families in single rooms with severely limited access to water, sanitation and basic necessities. UNICEF reported that more than 370,000 children are among those displaced by the conflict.

Khalsa Aid on the ground in Lebanon

Khalsa Aid's response was activated through direct outreach from trusted municipal partners in Lebanon, organisations the charity has worked with on previous displacement responses, who reported the scale of need firsthand. Khalsa Aid also coordinated with local NGOs including Food Blessed and MAAN to verify beneficiary lists and ensure distributions reached the most affected families.

Distributions took place across multiple areas including Beirut's Hamra neighbourhood, Saida and surrounding municipalities in northern Lebanon. Recognising that many families could not reach distribution points due to financial constraints or limited mobility, the team deployed motorcycles and cars to deliver parcels directly to households, ensuring that the most marginalised families were not left behind.

Families confirmed that for many of them these parcels are currently their primary and, in some cases, only source of food during displacement.

Lebanon food relief

Alongside food distributions, Khalsa Aid identified a critical gap in one of the shelters where internally displaced people had no access to water. The team arranged emergency water tank support for that shelter specifically, because for families already living through conflict and displacement, the absence of clean water is an immediate threat to health and dignity.

Khalsa Aid is now preparing the next phase of its Lebanon relief operation. This includes further food pack distributions as additional beneficiary lists are received, along with hygiene kits, women's dignity packs, blankets, mattresses and sleeping bags to address the protection and dignity needs of displaced families beyond immediate survival.

The scale of need across Lebanon remains significant. Khalsa Aid is committed to standing with displaced families for as long as that need exists.
