As Khalsa Aid marks 27 years of humanitarian service, our teams continue to stand where the need is greatest.

Today, that place is Beirut, Lebanon, where ongoing attacks have left families living in fear, forced many from their homes, and pushed others into temporary shelter with very little around them. In the middle of this unfolding crisis, Khalsa Aid Founder and CEO Ravi Singh is on the ground in Beirut with the local team, supporting displaced families in Lebanon and assessing how the organisation can respond further.

For the past few weeks, Khalsa Aid’s team in Lebanon has been distributing food and essential supplies to families affected by the conflict. As the situation continues to worsen, the team is now assessing what more is needed, including hygiene items and other urgent essentials for people who have had to flee with very little.

Speaking from Beirut, Ravi Singh described the situation as deeply disturbing. In one update shared from inside a car, the sound of missiles could be heard in the background. It was a stark reminder that for families across the city, fear is not distant. It is immediate, constant, and deeply unsettling. Ravi also shared that even on Easter, a day that should have brought peace and reflection, attacks continued in the city.

Amid the chaos, Khalsa Aid marked its 27th anniversary not with celebration, but with service.

Ravi spent time with children in temporary shelters in Beirut as the team distributed popcorn and sweets, offering a brief moment of comfort in the middle of conflict. It was a small gesture, but one that mattered. In times of violence and uncertainty, even a few moments of joy can mean something deep to a child. It does not remove the trauma around them, but it reminds them that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

This is the heart of Seva. To show up with compassion when the world around people is falling apart.

Khalsa Aid is also in touch with the local Gurdwara in Lebanon and suppliers on the ground to understand how support can be expanded in the days ahead. As more families are displaced, the need for practical and dignified humanitarian aid continues to grow.

The crisis in Lebanon is still unfolding. Behind every update are families trying to protect their children, find safety, and hold on to hope under impossible conditions. Khalsa Aid remains committed to standing beside them.

For 27 years, Khalsa Aid has served communities affected by war, disaster, and displacement across the world. In Beirut, that mission continues today as our teams support those seeking shelter, security, and the basic needs to survive.
