The Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 2005 in Erbil, Iraq. This strong collaboration began in late 2019, where the BCF helped to serve hot meals to over 20,000 refugees crossing the border between Kurdistan and Syria and inside the Bardarash camp within two months. They are instrumental aid to Khalsa Aid Iraq operations, and help to distribute hundreds of food packs in Adıyaman’s camps and surrounding villages.
Brakes UK is the UK’s leading wholesale food supplier for caterers and chefs. Langar Aid has established a meaningful partnership with Brakes UK, of which has amplified our efforts to provide nutritious meals and support food security in our communities.
Brakes UK supports Langar Aid monthly by contributing of fresh, long-dated produce. These vital donations are distributed to local schools and organisations, as well as used for evening feeds.
Founded in 1965, the Kenya Red Cross are a voluntary aid society that work alongside public authorities in Kenya. The humanitarian organisation focuses on innovatively promoting the health of all communities while factoring in sustainability and inclusivity. Since 2021, Khalsa Aid has consistently distributed aid with jointly with the Kenya Red Cross during events of famine, drought, flood and other natural disasters.
Girls' Pride Gambia is a community-based organisation founded in Gambia in 2018. Their mission is to empower adolescent girls and young women in Gambia by transferring key knowledge and skills, as well as providing essential sanitary products to alleviate period poverty. Girls Pride have a huge hand in our Pad the Path project, and lead multiple of the pivotal lessons to young girls in The Gambia - teaching of menstrual hygiene management, crafting own sustainable menstrual products, and debunking the taboos surrounding women on their periods through open, compassionate dialogue.
The Felix Project is a UK based project that seeks to rescue good surplus food from the food industry and distributes it to people in need. They play a significant part in the Langar Aid project, of which we have combined forces to combat food waste and hunger in London. From 2021, donations from Khalsa Aid have been used to buy 234 tonnes of fruit and vegetables, equivalent to 58,000 meals for 1000 charities and schools across the UK - especially the Midlands and the South.
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the largest humanitarian organization within the United Nations, addressing hunger and promoting food security worldwide. Together, the WFP and Khalsa Aid International facilitated much-needed nutritional assistance to Sudanese refugees who fled the Tigray crisis in Ethiopia. Furthermore, Khalsa Aid contributed towards the WFP's school meals initiative 'Healthy Kitchens' in Yemen, which went on to support vulnerable social groups employed under these collective kitchens, and supplied 10,000 school children with fresh, healthy meals.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a humanitarian organization that responds to the world’s worst crises. Their work includes delivering immediate aid, supporting recovery, and rebuilding lives. and operates in over 40 countries and more than 29 U.S. cities. Their partnership in 2021 allowed Khalsa Aid to support refugees with employment and mentorship schemes through the IRC's influential RISE (Refugee Integration in Southeast England) programme.
