Khalsa Aid’s Water4Africa is a long-term development project that aims to bring clean, safe, and accessible drinking water to the remote rural communities of Africa, including Malawi, Zambia, Kenya and The Gambia. Our Water4Africa project has benefitted thousands with clean and accessible water for almost a decade, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to this cause.
According to the United Nations, approximately 2.2 billion people globally lack access to safe drinking water, and by 2030, around 700 million individuals could face displacement due to water scarcity if immediate action is not taken.
Water4Africa’s long-term impact on schools in rural communities is profound. With water readily available and nearby, individuals can prioritize education as a fundamental right [UN Goal 4]. In a recent impactful project, our teams collaborated to support local schools, achieving one of the largest clean water installations to date.

"Too often, young girls miss out on education, earning an income, and all other leadership responsibilities because they dedicate most of their time to water collection. Readily available drinking water means children can instead spend their time in school, and teachers are also more inclined to accept teaching roles in remote areas if they can access a clean water supply."
