Yemen Civil War Relief

Project summary

The civil war in Yemen has had a disastrous impact on the country. Over 2.5 million people have had to flee their homes and have become internally displaced persons (IDPs).

How we helped

Khalsa Aid and our dedicated nutrition project Langar Aid, were contacted to support the provision of food items in the area to support IDPs during time of significant food shortages and heightened malnutrition. These were due to blockades in the region.

Khalsa Aid worked closely with humanitarian organisation Mona Relief to deliver three major ‘food drops’ which included rice, vegetable oil and cooking materials.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

This project supports the achievement of the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:

Mona Relief

Mona Relief is a non-profit Yemen-based non-governmental organisation for humanitarian relief and development. Funds are made up entirely of donations, which are then used to source and buy food locally, in turn supporting local Yemen merchants and farmers.
