Langar Aid provides a near-daily soup-kitchen service, where all are welcome. You will be provided with a hot meal and additional food packages, completely for free, no registration required. Just show up, and we will be happy to aid you, no matter your struggles.
This operation is based in the Langar Aid Coventry House. From their distribution centre, the team provides food packages to those who need support towards food rations.
Coventry House operates 6 days a week, from Sunday-Friday, and is open from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
The Langar Aid House distributes over 4,000 hot meals each week as part of the evening soup kitchen.
The Langar Aid House has two primary shifts:
Volunteers prepare food parcels and breakfast club items, which are then delivered to local schools during the day.
Volunteers prepare sandwiches, goody bags and hot food. Individuals arrive are are served directly from the centre.
Langar, a free communal kitchen, is a testament to inclusivity, offering vegetarian meals to all, regardless of race, religion, or gender. The institution of Langar was started by the First Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and it champions equality, inclusivity and sharing for all humankind.
Langar Aid, Khalsa Aid's flagship project based in the UK, is dedicated to providing food for the homeless and vulnerable across the country. Its work extends beyond the UK, providing crucial support to Khalsa Aid’s international relief missions.
The seeds for Langar Aid were sown in a family home in 2016 in Coventry, and swiftly blossomed into the impactful, compassionate project that we know it for today.
