The floods of 2014 occurred between December 2013 and March 2014. Persistent heavy rainfall and heavy winds caused rivers to overflow, affecting farmland, homes, and villages. This affected large parts of the country, including Somerset, the Thames Valley, and parts of the Midlands. Properties and homes were damaged and thousands of hectares of land were submerged, leading to agricultural loss, and displacement of residents.
Khalsa Aid launched a relief operation, coming to the aid of those in need. Volunteers from countless different backgrounds came to the aid of those living in those given areas, distributing bottled water, food, warm clothing, antiseptic fluid, medical products and any other items needed.
Khalsa Aid was able to provide 600 tonnes of sand across Somerset and Berkshire, which saw us provide over 50,000 bags of sand. These were used to protect areas and reinforce flood defences.

One of Khalsa Aid's primary areas of focus is providing immediate relief during natural disasters and conflicts. When disasters like earthquakes, floods, or tsunamis strike, Khalsa Aid is often among the first organizations on the ground, distributing food, water, medical supplies, and shelter to affected populations.
