The 2020 Indian farmers' protests involve mass demonstrations, including a prolonged blockade of highways leading to Delhi. As farmers continued to gather en-masse across the state borders with Delhi, the Khalsa Aid India team was there from the outset, providing essential supplies, medical aid, and logistical support to the protesting farmers. They returned in 2023 to provide further assistance at the eve of a second protest.
Our volunteers provided medical aid to thousands of protesting farmers at the Singhu and Tikri borders. In these areas, Khalsa Aid opened two "Kisaan Malls" where essentials like toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, combs, medicines, socks, towels, boots, and sanitary pads for women were distributed.
In 2023, Khalsa Aid provided emergency services at the Shambhu border, including ambulance services for farmers injured by tear gas and onsite medical stalls offering medicines, bandages, and other essential supplies.
