The 1984 massacres in Panjab marked a turbulent, horrific time in Sikh history. Countless have been left abandoned and overlooked by society, enduring the agony of waiting for their missing loved ones, while also grappling with dire living conditions. Since 2010, Khalsa Aid's Focus Panjab initiative remains steadfast in prioritising the 1984-affected families in Panjab until their struggles are alleviated.
Many children were orphaned by the 1984 genocide. Khalsa Aid ensures that school/college tuition fees are taken care of, additionally enrolling children to emphasise the importance of education amidst dire circumstances. Khalsa Aid provides sewing and embroidery training to rural women and assists them in setting up their own boutiques, enabling them to become self-employed.
