With a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other critical medical supplies, medical workers in Malawi were at heightened risk of contracting and transmitting the virus. The Society of Medical Doctors in Malawi reached out to Khalsa Aid volunteers for assistance in supporting frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the support of the Malawi Sikh Association and volunteers of Khalsa Aid, we delivered over 3000 pieces of PPE, and over 5100 pieces of medical equipment and supplies to District Health Office, Blantyre Malawi. This helped front line workers in local medical facilities to remain safe and the patients to prevent spreading the virus.
