Since 2021, Kenya has faced an ongoing drought, with three consecutive rainy seasons failing to bring relief. In September of that year, the Kenyan government officially declared the drought a national disaster. With two aid distributions, Khalsa Aid delivered food and water parcels jointly with the Kenya Red Cross and donor representatives.
Since 2021, Kenya has experienced an unrelenting drought due to three consecutive failed rainy seasons. In September 2021, the government declared the drought a national disaster and launched various mitigation and response measures. However, as the drought worsens, further reinforcement and expansion of these efforts are urgently needed, as the situation grows increasingly severe for a growing number of households in the affected counties.
One of Khalsa Aid's primary areas of focus is providing immediate relief during natural disasters and conflicts. When disasters like earthquakes, floods, or tsunamis strike, Khalsa Aid is often among the first organizations on the ground, distributing food, water, medical supplies, and shelter to affected populations.
