Since 2021, Khalsa Aid's Back to School project is an initiative aimed at supporting children in Iraq by providing essential educational resources and supplies. Assisting these children consistently will allow their families to reserve their money for other daily basic needs of their life.
Following the Turkish invasion in 2019, there has been an increase in departures in Northeast Syria. According to UNHCR data, there are now 247,305 Syrian refugees in Iraq. Children make up over half of all refugees. Khalsa Aid International has been actively supported Assyrian and Yezidi IDPs in the refugees camps - both official and unofficial.
These figures are updated with every deployment.
Please note that they are often an underestimation.
