Over half of the Syrian population are deemed an internally displaced people (IDP) due to blatant erasure and violence carried out by ISIS during 2014. Ever since, Khalsa Aid International has been actively supported Assyrian and Yezidi IDPs in the cities of Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaymaniyah.
Khalsa Aid Iraq extends support to orphanages and Yezidi families affected by war and conflict, providing 100 monthly food packs and hygiene kits. This effort is a part of an ongoing food security project. Khalsa Aid continues to assist the Yezidi with safe migration to Turkey and Syria, and intends to support and heal the persecuted Yezidi identity.
Khalsa Aid Iraq addressed critical community needs during Ramadan by distributing thousands of food packs in collaboration with local organisations. Environmental initiatives, including the relief efforts for families affected by fires in the Bajid Kandala camp, involved providing over 5000 hot meals.
