The 2010 earthquake in Haiti left 220,000 people dead, destroyed 50% of schools and adversely affected over 3.5 million people. Khalsa Aid has been providing supplies, food, water pumps, and other essentials to eight orphanages over the last 11 years.
Khalsa Aid volunteers have been visiting orphanages in Haiti on a quarterly basis to provide food supplies and provide ad hoc support where needed. In 2015, food was provided to over 600 children.

"Countries, communities and NGOs must come together to support Haiti in its time of need. The situation is worse than previously imagined, there is significant destruction. People are literally running after clean water trucks and many are without out any power supply. The people of Haiti were still rebuilding from the earthquake, they really do need all the support we can provide.”
