Held at Tally Ho in Edgbaston, the event welcomed charities, organisations, vendors, and members of the local community for a day centred on celebration, unity, and service. It created a space where people could come together not only to mark an important occasion in the Sikh calendar, but also to support those facing hardship.

This was the second event organised by the West Midlands Sikh Police Association that Langar Aid has supported. During the event, langar was served with food provided by local gurdwaras, reflecting the Sikh values of equality, compassion, and seva. Langar remains a powerful expression of community, where everyone is welcomed and served with dignity.

Alongside celebrating Vaisakhi, the event also aimed to support communities affected by the Panjab floods. By bringing people together around a shared cause, the day helped turn solidarity into action. For families rebuilding after disaster, recovery can be long and difficult, which is why collective support remains so important.

Vaisakhi is not only a time of celebration. It is also a reminder of the values of service, resilience, and standing beside those in need. Events like this show how communities can come together with both purpose and compassion, while keeping the focus on supporting people affected by crisis.

We thank the West Midlands Sikh Police Association, local gurdwaras, volunteers, stallholders, and everyone who contributed to the event and helped make the day possible.
