The Nobel Peace Prize is is awarded annually to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to world peace, including efforts to end conflict, promote reconciliation, and advance human rights. Khalsa Aid is humbled to have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in January 2021.

In January 2021, Canadian MP Tim Uppal put forward Khalsa Aid as a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize. Mr Uppal was especially impressed by the organisation's principles of 'recognising the whole human race as one', and wanted to in recognition of its work providing food and aid in disaster areas.

"We never ever thought that we would be nominated," Ravi Singh, the CEO of Khalsa Aid reflected. "So for us it’s like we won already." This was a significant moment of recognition for the charity, not only for its founder and trustees but also for the extraordinary efforts of its volunteers.

“It’s a very, very uplifting experience, more so for our volunteers because I’ve always said that what we are is because of our volunteers."

– Ravi Singh, CEO and Founder of Khalsa Aid

Ravi Singh also took the time to champion the volunteers of Khalsa AId, who work tirelessly, day and night, to provide worthy seva to suffering communities.

Khalsa Aid is warmly honoured to accept this nomination and graciously thanks the committee for providing a platform to further the sharing our mission of 'recognising the whole human race as one'.
