In response to the catastrophic 2025 floods in Panjab, Khalsa Aid has begun building new homes for affected families in five villages across Gurdaspur district. This marks a key milestone in Phase 2 of the Panjab Rehab Project.

After providing diesel support and cattle distribution to affected families in Panjab, Khalsa Aid has now launched the reconstruction project to provide secure housing in flood-hit villages of Gurdaspur district. This effort supports communities whose homes were destroyed by the floods.

Reconstruction Starts with Granthi Sikhs’ Homes

The home building project has begun in the villages of Haruwal Colony, Ransihke Tala, Dharamabad, Village Bal, and Dera Baba Nanak. The first phase of construction focuses on homes for five Granthi Sikhs, who serve as community leaders and sources of support during recovery.

Next Steps

Following Diwali, rebuilding efforts will expand to support more families identified through ongoing community assessments. This ensures assistance reaches those most in need.

Rehabilitation Efforts So Far

Phase 2 of the project addresses multiple needs beyond housing:

Agricultural Support: Land levelling services and livestock distribution to help restore livelihoods.

Household Assistance: Door-to-door delivery of essential supplies and rations.

Animal Health: Medical camps providing care for community cattle.
