Khalsa Aid has provided diesel worth over $47,000 (approximately ₹42,00,000) to affected farmers in Panjab within just two days. This initiative is part of our ongoing Panjab Rehab Phase 2 project aimed at rebuilding lives impacted by the devastating 2025 floods.
The 2025 Panjab floods have damaged approximately 148,000 hectares of agricultural land. With a quarter of Panjab's population dependent on farming, this devastation has disrupted the livelihoods of countless families who lost their fields.
Khalsa Aid is actively supporting the families affected by the floods. Not only are our volunteers levelling farmlands to make them cultivable again, but we are also providing 20 litres of diesel per acre to farmers with 1 to 10 acres of land that were submerged.
On October 10th, this project began in eight villages of Ajnalatehsil in the Amritsar district: Talwandi Rai Dadu, Lakhuwal, Lalwala, Dabbar, Kamirpura, Phule Chak, Kotli Korotana, and Nangal Vanjhawala.
Our process is simple and efficient. After verifying a farmer's identification, our volunteers provide a slip which can be used to collect their diesel allocation from a local pump. The slip is then returned to our team to ensure the distribution is managed fairly.
In just two days, from October 10th to 12th, Khalsa Aid distributed an estimated 48,112 litres of diesel, worth more than 42 lakh rupees (over $47,000 USD), to affected farmers.
This initiative is only possible because of the immense support and generous donations from the community. Following our principle of ‘selfless seva’, this effort ensures that small farmers, who feared they could not afford to plant again, can now sow their crops and get back on their feet.
