After Panjab Flood Relief Phase 1, Khalsa Aid Begins Phase 2 of Rehab Project

After the Panjab floods of 2025, Khalsa Aid has continued its work to support farmers and families whose lives were affected by the disaster.

The first phase of the project focused on immediate relief, including rescue operations, food distribution, clean drinking water, veterinary support, and embankment repair. With this phase completed, Khalsa Aid has now begun the second phase of rehabilitation.

Levelling Farmlands: Restoring Panjab’s Greatest Strength

The second phase focuses on restoring farmlands, rebuilding homes, beginning in the Majha region. Around 1,500 acres of flood-damaged land are being levelled to make them cultivable again. Diesel fuel is being provided for tractors, helping farmers prepare their fields for the next crop season. Soil quality is also being restored through seeding and other support measures.

Farming is central to Panjab’s economy and families. When fields are damaged, entire communities lose crops, income, and stability. By levelling the land and providing practical help, Khalsa Aid is supporting farmers in rebuilding their livelihoods.

Spirit of Seva: Bringing Hope to Panjab

These efforts have been made possible through support from the global community and local volunteers. Farmers are leading the way, bringing their tractors and labour, while Khalsa Aid supplies the diesel and resources to continue the work.

Khalsa Aid says this project is not only about repairing land but also about giving families the means to move forward. The organisation has appealed for continued support worldwide, noting that while natural disasters cannot be prevented, their effects can be overcome through collective action.

The recovery process will take time, but with ongoing efforts, Panjab is moving towards stability once again.
