Hong Kong, 5 July 2026 – CEO and Founder of Khalsa Aid International - Ravi Singh has been honoured with the 2026 Lions International Humanitarian Award, one of the highest distinctions presented by Lions Clubs International, recognising the organisation's exceptional contribution to humanitarian relief and disaster response around the world.
The award was presented during the 2026 Lions International Convention in Hong Kong, where thousands of Lions members and humanitarian leaders gathered to celebrate outstanding service to humanity.
Founder and CEO Ravi Singh accepted the award on behalf of Khalsa Aid International, dedicating the recognition to the volunteers, supporters, donors and humanitarian workers who have been at the heart of the organisation's mission for the past 27 years.
"I accept this recognition with humility, not as a personal achievement, but as a reflection of the countless volunteers, supporters, donors and humanitarian workers who have stood alongside Khalsa Aid over the past twenty-seven years."
Founded in 1999, Khalsa Aid International has provided life-saving humanitarian assistance in more than 50 countries, responding to conflicts, natural disasters, refugee crises and humanitarian emergencies. Guided by the Sikh principle of seva (selfless service) and the ethos Recognise the whole human race as one, the organisation has delivered food, clean water, medical aid, shelter and long-term recovery support to millions of people, regardless of race, religion or nationality.
Reflecting on the organisation's journey, Ravi Singh spoke about Khalsa Aid's first humanitarian mission during the Kosovo refugee crisis and how it has grown into one of the world's leading frontline humanitarian organisations.
"Human suffering does not recognise borders, religions or nationalities, and neither should compassion."
He also highlighted that humanitarian work is about far more than providing emergency relief.
"Food, water, shelter and medical support are essential, but equally important is reminding people that they have not been forgotten."
The Lions International Humanitarian Award includes a US$500,000 grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), which will help strengthen Khalsa Aid's ongoing humanitarian programmes and emergency response efforts across the globe.
Receiving the award from Lions Clubs International held particular significance for Ravi Singh, who reflected on the shared values between the two organisations.
"I am particularly honoured to receive this award from Lions Clubs International because your motto, 'We Serve', mirrors the very spirit that has driven my life's work."
He concluded by paying tribute to Khalsa Aid's global family of volunteers and supporters.
"This award inspires us to continue doing what we have always sought to do: stand with those who are suffering, restore dignity where it has been lost, and help rekindle faith in humanity."
